Driver + Co. FAQ

What is a driver and what parts belong to it?

The driver is the unit the chain runs on. It contains the freewheel mechanism. Typical spare parts include:
Driver (Cog)
The one-piece gear (usually 9 teeth).
Pawls & Springs
They create the "click" sound and engagement. If your hub slips (skips), these small parts are often worn out.

RHD vs. LHD - What do I need?

  • RHD (Right Hand Drive): Chain on the right (Standard).
  • LHD (Left Hand Drive): Chain on the left (to protect the drivetrain when grinding on the right).
Important: Many drivers work only for one side unless marked as "SDS" (Switch Drive System).

What do the specifications mean?

Feature Details
Teeth (T) 9T is standard. 8T for smaller gearing, 10T rarer.
Bearings Mostly Polymer bushings or special sealed/needle bearings.
