Shinguards

No more bloody shins. Shin Pads are arguably the most important protection for beginners learning tricks. Slipping off a pedal with metal pins ("Pedal Bite") is extremely painful and leaves permanent scars. We offer pads with hard plastic inserts or Kevlar protection.

Shinguards FAQ

The "Whip Pad" Feature

Many BMX-specific shin pads (like the Fuse Alpha) feature extra padding on the inside of the calf. Why? When you catch Tailwhips, the crank arm or pedal often slams into the inside of your leg. This pad prevents that specific bruise.

Fit Guide

Shin pads are usually worn under jeans. Look for slim profiles if you wear skinny jeans.
Material: Neoprene with a hard plastic spine is the best combination of comfort and penetration protection against sharp pins.

Care Instructions

Mud and sweat are enemies of your pads.

  • Remove Inserts: If the hard plastic shield is removable, take it out.
  • Wash: 30°C gentle cycle.
  • Dry: Hang dry. Do not put on a heater, or the neoprene will become brittle.
