Driver + Co. FAQ
What is a driver and what parts belong to it?
The driver is the unit the chain runs on. It contains the freewheel mechanism. Typical spare parts include:- Driver (Cog)
- The one-piece gear (usually 9 teeth).
- Pawls & Springs
- They create the "click" sound and engagement. If your hub slips (skips), these small parts are often worn out.
RHD vs. LHD - What do I need?
- RHD (Right Hand Drive): Chain on the right (Standard).
- LHD (Left Hand Drive): Chain on the left (to protect the drivetrain when grinding on the right).
What do the specifications mean?
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Teeth (T) | 9T is standard. 8T for smaller gearing, 10T rarer. |
| Bearings | Mostly Polymer bushings or special sealed/needle bearings. |
| Compatibility | Only fits the specific hub of the manufacturer! |
