The Origin
In the early 70s, the development of what everyone knows today as BMX began in the USA. Young people gathered to race against each other on bicycles, modeled after motocross. The term BMX – Bicycle Moto Cross – was born. Thanks to a few pioneers, BMX was able to grow. Due to its popularity with the audience and naturally the riders themselves, events were launched and organizations founded until this movement became large enough that some manufacturers began developing bicycles specifically for this sport.
The Evolution of the BMX Bike
Before BMX bikes as we know them existed, the so-called Bonanza bikes (wheelie bikes) were widespread. The compact size, high handlebars, and geometry allowed the rider very sporty handling and were therefore preferred for racing. Due to increasing demand, a new type of bicycle emerged: Small wheels for agility and stability and high, stable handlebars for sporty handling.
It was only a matter of time before these bikes were ridden outside of race tracks. What began in classic round backyard swimming pools led to the construction of quarter pipes. The desire for jumps was great, but also the invention of tricks on the ground, leading to the creation of parts like the rotor and pegs, which are often fundamental components of the BMX bike today.
Retro Look meets Modern Quality
Our Oldschool Bikes are mostly "Re-Issues". They look exactly like the classics from 80s movies but are made of modern materials and can withstand much more than the originals from back in the day.
Typical Oldschool Features
- Skyway Tuff Wheels: The iconic plastic composite wheels.
