When do I need Pedal Spare Parts?
Your pedals are the connection to your power. Wear and tear directly affects your safety and efficiency. Regular maintenance prevents "pedal slip" at the gate.
The Main Wear Parts
- Cleats (Schuhplatten)
- For clipless riders. The brass or steel plate on your shoe wears down every time you clip in/out.
Sign of wear: Accidental unclipping when pulling up hard. Replace immediately! - Pins (Stifte)
- For flat pedal riders. Pins get dull or break off upon ground contact.
Sign of wear: Your foot slips off easily. Replace pins to restore "sticky" grip. - Axles & Bearings
- If the pedal body wobbles on the axle or doesn't spin smoothly, a Rebuild Kit is needed.
Compatibility Check
Parts are rarely universal. You must match the brand:
- Shimano SPD: The industry standard for cleats (SM-SH51/56).
- HT Components: Uses their own exclusive cleat system (X1/X1F/X2). Not compatible with SPD!
