What does the Colony brand stand for?

Colony stands for high-quality, lightweight, and well- thought-out BMX parts with a focus on a clean look. Originally founded as a pure street company, the range today caters to riders in the Street, Park, and Flatland disciplines (the latter through a dedicated line with input from Shane Badman). Behind it is the ethos of a rider-owned company.

How did Colony Bikes start?

The idea emerged around 2005. The first parts hit the market as early as 2006. An early collaboration was the "Endeavor Bike" with Wethepeople. The brand gained wider recognition when ramp legend Dave Freimuth joined Colony.

What makes Colony products special?

Colony parts stand out due to their low weight and clean aesthetics, based on the expertise of Clint Millar and his team. Particularly noteworthy are the frames, which often come with a lifetime warranty on manufacturer defects against breakage and are extremely lightweight.

What does Colony primarily manufacture?

Colony offers the entire range of BMX components needed to build a complete bike for Street, Park, or Flatland. This includes frames, forks, handlebars, stems, cranks, hubs, rims, tires, seats, pedals, and pegs.

Who are Colony products suitable for?

Colony products are aimed at BMX riders in the Street, Park, and Flatland disciplines who value low weight, high quality, thoughtful design, and an authentic, rider-owned brand from Australia.

Where does the name "Colony" come from?

The name was suggested by in-house designer Chris Harrison. Clint Millar wanted something that sounded like home. Since Australia was originally settled as a British colony, the name "Colony" was a perfect fit.
