Brake Cable
Does your brake feel spongy or do you want to do barspins without the brake locking up? Here you will find high-quality Linear Slic Brake Cables. Unlike traditional cables, these do not kink or compress when the handlebars are twisted. Perfect for the classic long cable setup or as a base for maximum braking power.

Brake Cable FAQ
What is special about BMX brake cables?
In the past, brake cables were spirally wound ("coil"). When you turned the handlebars, the spiral contracted and the brake locked up. Modern BMX cables are almost always Linear Slic Cables. The steel wires in the housing run longitudinally (linear). The result: The housing is compression-less (does not compress) and you can turn the handlebars 1-2 times without the brake locking. What types are there?
- Linear Slic Cable
- The standard for the rear. Longitudinal wires, often with Teflon coating inside for less friction.
- Slic Cable (Standard)
- Spiral wound. Slightly more flexible, but prone to "ghost braking" during barspins. Often only used as a short connecting piece for front brakes.
Long Cable vs. Rotor?
Here you will find standard, single cables.- Long Cable Setup: You use a long linear cable (approx. 120-130cm), which you fix to the handlebars with a velcro strap. This is enough for 1-2 barspins.
- Infinite Barspins: For this, you need a Rotor and special Y-cables.
How do I install a brake cable?
- Cut the outer housing to the correct length with sharp wire cutters. Warning: Linear cable wires are very hard!
- File the cut edge smooth so the inner wire doesn't rub.
- Lightly oil the inner wire before inserting it.
- Route the cable in a wide arc to minimize friction.
What do the specifications mean?
