Demolition FAQ
Who or what is Demolition Parts?
Demolition Parts was founded in 2000 by Brian Castillo (founder of Volume Bikes) after the idea sparked on a road trip with Jason Enns and Kris Bennett in Ashland, Oregon. The three felt the need for a new parts brand due to the lack of rider- designed components for core riders and felt that many established brands lacked "soul and history in BMX".
What does the Demolition brand stand for?
Demolition clearly stands for the philosophy "from riders for riders". The brand was founded to supply the parts the founders themselves wanted to ride but couldn't get from their sponsors at the time. This approach of developing parts that meet the needs of demanding core riders across all disciplines (Street, Dirt, Park/Ramp) remains central to this day.
What makes Demolition products special?
The specialty lies in the fact that the parts were developed around the needs and desires of the team riders from the very beginning. The first products were exactly what Castillo, Enns, and Bennett wanted to ride and couldn't find from other brands. This close collaboration with a diverse team ensures that the parts are field-tested and optimized for modern BMX use.
What does Demolition primarily manufacture?
As a complement to Volume Bikes (which often focuses on frames, forks, and handlebars), Demolition Parts offers the remaining components needed to build a complete high-end BMX bike. This primarily includes hubs, rims, tires, cranks, pedals, stems, seats, pegs, and other accessory parts.
Who are Demolition products suitable for?
Demolition parts are aimed at demanding BMX riders across all disciplines (Street, Park, Dirt) who value durable, well-thought-out, and pro-tested components. Anyone looking to support an authentic, rider-owned brand with a long history in BMX is right here.
Who rides or rode for the Demolition Team?
The first team riders were, of course, co-initiators Jason Enns and Kris Bennett, known for their versatility in street, dirt, and ramp. Over the years, Demolition has had many BMX legends on the team, including icons like Dave Osato and Mike Escamilla. Current top riders like Dennis Enarson have also been important ambassadors for the brand. The team was and is known for its diversity of riding styles.
