Gloves + Protection FAQ
What to look for in BMX Gloves?
- The Palm Material
- Usually made of synthetic leather (Clarino). It must be thin enough to feel the grips but durable enough to survive crashes. Silicone Prints on the fingers help with brake lever grip.
- Closure: Velcro vs. Slip-On
- Velcro: Classic secure fit.
Slip-On: Modern, light, elastic cuff. - Touchscreen Compatible?
- Many modern gloves have conductive threads so you can check your phone without taking them off.
How to wash Gloves
- CLOSE THE VELCRO! This is the most important rule. Open velcro straps will destroy the fabric of your gloves or other clothes in the washing machine.
- Temp: 30°C max. High heat makes the synthetic leather palm hard and slippery.
- Dry: Air dry. Never on a heater.
