Its medium height spike knobs dig into any loose ground and hold, the center knobs provide braking grip and directional stability. After years of feedback from World Cup downhill and Enduro World Series athletes the tread was reworked for better wet traction, cornering and mud shedding; the 2.40 casing saves weight and improves frame and fork clearance when things get really sloppy.
3C MaxxGrip is the stickiest, slowest rebounding compound Maxxis offers, the downhill compound of the World Cup riders with the best damping. DoubleDown (DD) is the enduro casing: two 120 TPI plies with a butyl sidewall insert, clearly tougher than EXO+ and lighter than the downhill casing. Folding tire, tubeless ready: run tubeless with sealant. The Wide Trail (WT) sizes are optimised for rims with 30 to 35 mm inner width.
