Who or what is Restrap?

Restrap is a British manufacturer of bikepacking bags, luggage, straps and pedal straps. The brand started in 2010 in Nathan Hughes' back bedroom in Leeds: one sewing machine, and salvaged car seatbelts he cut out of scrapyard cars himself. Today a team of machinists and designers works out of a large workshop in Leeds.

What did Restrap start with?

With pedal straps. Nathan Hughes sewed them for himself first, then for his friends; in the Leeds fixie scene they quickly became a must-have. Bags and luggage systems only came afterwards. Pedal straps are still part of the range today.

What does the Restrap brand stand for?

The brand names three principles: design, build and ride. Everything is made by hand in the UK, materials are sourced as locally as possible, and testing happens in the Yorkshire Dales. Because the whole production sits in house, there is little offcut waste, and what is left over gets reused. All products are vegan.

What does Restrap mainly make?

• Bikepacking bags: saddle bags, frame bags, bar bags (holster and bar pack), top tube and stem bags.
• Luggage: panniers, backpacks, hip packs and musettes.
• Straps and mounts: fast straps, frame straps, tool rolls, bottle cages.
• Pedal straps: in a diagonal and a horizontal version.

What does the lifetime guarantee mean?

Restrap sells all of its products with a lifetime guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship.

Who are Restrap products for?

For anyone who wants luggage on the bike without a rack – from an overnighter to a long tour. The straps and the small bags work on any bike regardless of that, on a BMX or a fixie too.
