MTB Chains Spare Parts FAQ

Which spare parts are there for MTB chains?

More of a drivetrain can be repaired than most people think.
Half link chain links
A half link shortens the chain by half a pitch instead of a full one. That puts the rear wheel exactly where you want it in the dropout.
Chain connectors
They close the chain without a rivet pin. Check whether the connector is reusable. Some can be opened again and again, others are built for a single use.
Master pins
Some chains are not closed with a connector but with their own rivet pin. It only fits the chain it was made for.

What should I look out for?

The pitch of your chain decides. Here you will find parts in 1/2" x 11/128" | 1/2" x 3/32". A link of the wrong width will not fit between the plates, so it is worth checking the chain before you order. The matching chains are under MTB chains.
