absoluteBLACK is a British component brand, founded in 2012 and still family-owned. It made its name with oval chainrings: direct-mount rings for SRAM, Shimano and Race Face Cinch, alongside round 1x rings, the HOLLOWcage carbon derailleur cage, GRAPHENlube chain wax and GRAPHENpads brake pads. The parts are designed in England, machined in Poland from German aluminium and anodized in the United Kingdom. The brand had the effect of the oval shape studied by the University of Primorska in Slovenia.
