Delivery to Switzerland

Switzerland You are in Switzerland and would like to order from us? Very welcome, we have been shipping there for many years and it is no trouble at all.

Our shop is located in Stuttgart (Germany). Your parcel therefore crosses a border, and that changes two things: you pay no German VAT with us, and Swiss charges are added on import instead. It sounds like more hassle than it is. Everything you need to know is right here, so your parcel reaches you quickly.

Prices in the shop

As soon as you set Switzerland as your delivery country, the shop shows you every price without German VAT. That is not a discount, it follows from your goods being exported.

Prices are rounded up to clean endings, so 24.95 rather than 24.37. It keeps the amounts readable and means you see the same price steps we use in the shop.

You set the country at the foot of the page, or at the latest at checkout with your delivery address. Best do it before you start browsing, otherwise you are looking at German gross prices.

What is added on import

At the border Switzerland charges its own import tax, and customs duty plus a clearance fee from the carrier can come on top. You pay those directly to the carrier, not to us. We can neither calculate them in advance nor cover them for you.

How high they are depends on the value and the type of goods. Only the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security can tell you that bindingly. Expect your parcel to be released once the charges are paid.

Shipping and how long it takes

We ship to Switzerland with DHL. You will find the cost staggered by order value and weight on the Shipping costs & delivery times page under zone 3, which also states the transit time. Customs clearance comes on top of that, and that is not something we can speed up from here.

Customs paperwork travels with your parcel. For it to be correct, please leave a complete address and a phone number the carrier can reach you on. Without your number the parcel tends to sit and wait.

Would you rather collect in person?

Plenty of our Swiss customers simply drop by, often on the way to a contest or a trip. You are welcome to collect at the shop or shop with us in person. We then charge you German VAT first, exactly as for any other over-the-counter sale.

You get that VAT back from us if you export the goods yourself and prove it to us. Here is how:

  1. Nothing to prepare. Your invoice already carries your name, your address and every item, which is exactly what customs want to see. Do mention it to us anyway, so we know.
  2. Take your goods across the border and have the invoice stamped by customs. Bring your ID showing your residence outside the EU.
  3. Send the stamped invoice back to us, by post or as a photo. If you paid in cash or by debit card, please add your bank details, otherwise we have nowhere to transfer the money.

We then refund the German VAT. If you paid by card or PayPal, it goes back the same way.

We do this from any amount, there is no lower limit. Just do not sit on the stamped invoice for too long, statutory deadlines apply to the refund.

If you want to send something back

Your right of withdrawal applies just as it does for every other customer, see Cancellation policy. A return from Switzerland does have the same catch as the outbound parcel: your shipment has to clear customs. Get in touch first and we will agree how to handle it, so your goods do not get stuck.

The charges you paid on import may be reclaimable from Swiss customs. That does not run through us.

We like being in Switzerland
