ATLANTIC has been making bicycle care products in northern Germany for over 100 years. The name has stood for lubricants since 1900, and the plant in Dollern near Hamburg still makes every product itself. On the bike it is best known for the Oelzeuch chain fluid, the complete cleaner and Radglanz.

Who or what is Atlantic?
ATLANTIC is a German brand for bicycle care, lubricants and cleaning products. The name was registered for lubricating oils in 1900, and in 1922 ATLANTIC Oelwerke GmbH registered its business in the Free Port of Hamburg. Merging with the Mineralölwerk Stade, founded in 1897, produced today's ATLANTIC Mineralölwerk GmbH. It is owned by the Studders family, now in its fourth generation.
The company rebuilt in Hamburg-Wandsbek in 1946, moved production to Dollern near Hamburg in 1984 and brought both sites together there in 2006. On a plant of more than 16,000 square metres every product has been made in house since then, certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
What does Atlantic do on a bike?
Bicycle lubricants have been core business since the 1920s, back then alongside oils for sewing machines and typewriters. In 1948 there were eight bicycle products, by 1984 already 22, and today the range covers cleaning, protection, chain lubrication and speciality oils.
The best known is Oelzeuch, a fully synthetic all-weather chain fluid built from eight components, along with the complete cleaner, which is acid free and safe on carbon and matt paint, and Radglanz, which cleans and preserves metal surfaces in one pass. For the workbench there is bearing grease and the white Brillantfett with PTFE.
