Crankbrothers

Crankbrothers was founded by Carl Winefordner and Frank Hermansen in 1997 in a Laguna Beach garage – the name is made of their first names. The first product was the Speed Lever tyre lever; the breakthrough came in 2001 with the Eggbeater, a clipless pedal reduced to four wings and so hard to clog. The brand sits in Santa Ana, California, and builds pedals, multitools, pumps, seatposts and shoes.
