Surly

Surly is based in Bloomington, Minnesota, and makes serious steel bikes for people who don't take themselves too seriously. The brand is adamant that steel is the best material for the bikes it designs and rides: its own "Natch!" tubesets are matched to the intended use and loading of each model, with size-specific tubes, custom butting profiles and proprietary forks. Alongside the bikes Surly makes tough parts for touring, bikepacking and single speed, such as stainless steel chainrings you simply flip around once they wear, and handlebars like the Terminal Bar and the Corner Bar. You don't need a uniform or a kit to ride a Surly: just throw your leg over and go.
