The Giro "Insurgent Spherical" Fullface Helmet - Matte Hedge Green/Dark Shark is Giro's full face for downhill and bike park duty, with a fiberglass hard shell and Mips Spherical: two EPS/EPP foam layers fit together like a ball-and-socket joint and can move a few millimetres against each other in an angled impact, shedding rotational energy before it reaches your head. At around 1,040 g in size M/L it stays some 200 g under Giro's previous DH helmet, the Disciple. The Roc Loc Air DH system adjusts tension and tilt with one hand and suspends the helmet slightly off the skull so the Wind Tunnel venting can flow through. Two thicknesses of cheek pads are included, mounted on directional snaps for emergency removal without moving the head. The visor bolts are tool-free breakaway parts, and the central visor bolt doubles as an action camera mount. Certified to CPSC and CE EN 1078, and it additionally meets ASTM-1952-DH and ASTM-2032-BMX.
