The low, tightly spaced tread is built for speed and control on mixed, rather hard terrain, the kind that makes up modern XC racing. The Race XC Compound is the fastest compound in the Pirelli MTB lineup: lots of chemical grip even in the wet, high tear resistance, and as a single compound it stays consistent over the tire's whole life. The LITE casing made of multi-ply 120 TPI nylon fabric is built for minimum weight and the best rolling performance, without extra sidewall reinforcement: the lightest and most supple construction in the range.
