The Pride Racing "Wave Carbon" BMX Race Rim - 20 Inch - 28H is the Pride Racing Wave carbon rim for 20 inch wheels with a 451 rim diameter, meaning junior and expert bikes, made from Toray T700 carbon. Its profile is kept low at 25mm height and 23mm width, the rim weighs 283g according to the manufacturer and is one of the lightest rims in BMX racing. The Wave design carries a square reinforcement at every spoke hole, which allows higher spoke tension and makes the wheel stiffer. The rim has no brake track and is meant for disc brakes only, the valve hole is drilled for Presta valves, and it fits tires from 20x1-1/8" to 20x1-3/8". The 28 spoke holes are approved for 3-cross lacing only, Pride recommends a spoke tension of 110 kgf, and the rim comes in black or white, each in UD Gloss or UD Matt.

Carbon rim notice
On carbon rims, single layers of the laminate can crack, usually from hard landings or overloading. Such damage from use is not a defect: it is covered neither by the statutory warranty nor by any manufacturer's warranty. A rim with cracked layers should be checked before it is ridden again.
Our recommendation: carbon rims are best suited to experienced, professional use. Front wheel rather than rear, and park, dirt or race rather than street. Land clean and you keep the weight advantage for longer. Worth being aware of.
