The Reverse Components MTB Stem Shim turns a 35 mm stem clamp into a 31.8 mm one. The two half shells go into the stem before the handlebar, then the face plate is tightened as usual. It is the cheap answer to a stem you want to keep and a handlebar that does not match it. Made from aluminium the extra weight is negligible, and because the shells spread the clamping force over the full width, the load on the bar stays the same as with a matching clamp.
