The Excess "XLC Carbon" BMX Race Rim - 20 Inch (451) - 36H - Disc is a BMX race carbon rim made from 3K weave (Toray) with a high gloss finish. Excess makes the XLC carbon rims in two profiles, this is the profile without a brake surface, for the front wheel or for a rear wheel with a disc brake. You cannot run it with a V-brake.
It measures 451x22mm for 20 x 1-1/8" to 1-3/8" tires, is 23.3mm high, weighs 284g according to US Pro and has 36 spoke holes and a Presta valve hole. Thanks to its bead lock it is tubeless ready, for that you also need a tubeless valve, rim tape, sealant and a tubeless tire. Excess recommends at most 7.58 bar (110 psi) and a spoke tension up to 115 kgf.

Carbon rim notice
On carbon rims, single layers of the laminate can crack, usually from hard landings or overloading. Such damage from use is not a defect: it is covered neither by the statutory warranty nor by any manufacturer's warranty. A rim with cracked layers should be checked before it is ridden again.
Our recommendation: carbon rims are best suited to experienced, professional use. Front wheel rather than rear, and park, dirt or race rather than street. Land clean and you keep the weight advantage for longer. Worth being aware of.
