The Ikon "Carbon Forged" BMX Race Rim - 20 Inch (406) - 36H - Disc is Ikon's carbon rim with a forged carbon finish for 20 x 1.50" and 20 x 1.75" tires, meaning a 406mm bead seat diameter, with 36 holes and a 32mm width. It is made from unidirectional Toray T700 carbon and weighs 305g; according to Ikon a comparable aluminum rim weighs about 390g. Black/white and black/grey are glossy, matte black/black is matte. The profile has no brake track: it always works up front, and in the rear with a disc brake. It is not made for V-brakes.
The rim is tubeless ready with a bead lock system. With tubeless rim tape, a tubeless valve, sealant and a tubeless tire you can run it without a tube. Ikon recommends at most 7.58 bar (110 psi) and a spoke tension up to 115 kgf.

Carbon rim notice
On carbon rims, single layers of the laminate can crack, usually from hard landings or overloading. Such damage from use is not a defect: it is covered neither by the statutory warranty nor by any manufacturer's warranty. A rim with cracked layers should be checked before it is ridden again.
Our recommendation: carbon rims are best suited to experienced, professional use. Front wheel rather than rear, and park, dirt or race rather than street. Land clean and you keep the weight advantage for longer. Worth being aware of.
