The S&M Bikes "Mid School Guard" Sprocket was originally introduced in 2005 under the name "Bashguard Sprocket" and listed in various sizes as "Guard Sprocket" in 2006, this chainring received a revised reissue in June 2024. This was prompted by increased interest in an older model ridden by S&M pro Aryei Levenson. The current version of the S&M Bikes "Mid School Guard" Sprocket features wider cutouts for the crankarm mount, an updated tooth profile with offset alignment to optimize the chainline, and additional engraving.
