The Wolf Tooth "Performance" MTB Headset Lower Cup - EC44/40 is the lower half of the Wolf Tooth Performance headset for frames with external cups (EC44: 44 mm head tube inner diameter at the bottom) and a tapered fork with a 1.5 inch crown race seat (40 mm), machined from 6061 aluminium in Minnesota. Wolf Tooth sells top and lower cups separately, so you replace only the half your frame needs and mix colours freely. Inside is an Enduro black oxide steel bearing with a one year warranty, the crown race carries an over-moulded dual lip seal that protects the lower bearing even in mud. 12.25 mm stack. With a crown race adapter (sold separately) a fork with a 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 inch steerer runs in the 1.5 inch cup as well. Set the crown race with the Wolf Tooth installation adapter, which does not damage the seal.
