They close the hub off towards the dropout and come as a pair, so you swap both sides in one go. You get the Pride Racing "Rear Hub End Caps Rival" BMX Race Hub End Caps - 6mm in red, blue and oilslick, either to replace damaged caps or to match the hub to the colour of your bike. For the Rival and Swift hubs with a 10mm axle the matching caps are a separate product.
