The Wolf Tooth MTB Thru Axle - Rear 12mm replaces a lost or damaged stock axle and does it better: a captive steel washer under the head reduces friction on the dropout face. More of the tightening torque becomes clamping force, the dropout stays undamaged and the axle does not stick or gall when you remove it. Machined from 7075-T6 aluminium in Minnesota, 5 mm hex, 12 Nm max. Important when ordering: length, thread pitch and thread length must match the frame, the axle length is independent of the hub spacing. Wolf Tooth provides a printable measuring guide; the length may vary by 2 mm. A little grease on washer and threads at installation.
