The absoluteBLACK "Oval" MTB Chainring - 96 BCD Shimano XTR M9000 is the oval 1x chainring from absoluteBLACK exclusively for the Shimano XTR cranks FC-M9000 and M9020 with the asymmetric 96 mm BCD – not for XT M8000. Built-in M7 threaded standoffs improve the chainline by 1 mm over stock to 49 mm. CNC machined from 7075 aluminium and type II anodised, with narrow-wide teeth and 3D machined tooth flanks that keep the chain on the ring without a chain guide and shed mud.
Ovality (10.2 to 14.4 %) and timing (110.5 to 116.3° after top dead centre) are matched to each tooth count: the pedal stroke gets easier through the dead spot and rear-wheel traction improves on climbs. It mounts only with the original Shimano M7 bolts from the front; the original bolt covers can no longer be used. Not compatible with Shimano HG+ and SRAM Flat Top chains.
