The MRP "Race Axle" MTB Thru Axle - Rear 12mm replaces the quick release thru axle on the rear wheel with a low profile axle tightened with a hex key. Without a lever there is more room at the rear end, according to MRP up to 25 millimetres in some cases, an advantage on tight, technical trails.
At the same time the Race Axle weighs 20 to 50 percent less than common QR style thru axles such as Shimano E-Thru, DT Swiss RWS or Syntace X12. Available in eight lengths with thread pitches of 1.0 (Syntace), 1.5 and 1.75 mm.
