With the Reverse Components "XD" Singlespeed Kit you convert a hub with a SRAM XD freehub body to single speed. Instead of a cassette and a derailleur there is one cog on a CNC machined carrier, plus spacers to set the chain line. In the bike park that removes everything that can bend or tear off. Once the cog is worn you replace it on its own and keep the carrier.
