The absoluteBLACK "Oval" MTB Chainring - Shimano Direct Mount (12 Speed HG+) is the oval 1x direct mount chainring from absoluteBLACK for the Shimano 12 speed cranks XTR M9100, XT M8100, SLX M7100 and Deore M6100 (including the M91x0/M81x0/M71x0/M61x0 variants and FC-MT900). The teeth are matched to the Shimano 12 speed Hyperglide+ chain; it mounts with the original Shimano lockring. CNC machined from 7075 aluminium and type II anodised, with narrow-wide teeth and 3D machined tooth flanks that keep the chain on the ring without a chain guide and shed mud.
Ovality (10.2 to 14.4 %) and timing (110.5 to 116.3° after top dead centre) are matched to each tooth count: the pedal stroke gets easier through the dead spot and rear-wheel traction improves on climbs. The chainline depends on the crank (axle length), not on the ring.
