The
Odyssey BMX "Optis Insert" Tubeless Insert - 700C (with Double Valve)
is the 700C version of the Odyssey OPTIS system, for gravel and road wheels with 23 to 28mm inner rim width. It ships with the OPTIS double valve in standard length.
OPTIS stands for Odyssey Pneumatic Tire Insert System and is a lightweight, highly tunable tubeless tire insert. The insert is inflated to a higher pressure than the tire, presses the tire against the rim from the inside and supports it. That prevents burping, allows a lower tire pressure for more grip and protects rim and tire against impacts.
In case of a severe air loss the
Odyssey BMX "Optis Insert" Tubeless Insert - 700C (with Double Valve)
keeps the tire on the rim for a short while so you can come to a controlled stop. It is installed like a conventional tube, and while inflating it pushes the bead outwards, which makes seating the tire easier.
