The Odyssey BMX "Optis Insert" Tubeless Insert - 700C (Without Valve, Insert Only) is the replacement insert of the Odyssey OPTIS system for 700C gravel and road wheels with 23 to 28mm inner rim width. The insert is all you get, the OPTIS valve is not included and is needed for installation.
OPTIS stands for Odyssey Pneumatic Tire Insert System and is a lightweight, highly tunable tubeless tire insert. The insert is inflated to a higher pressure than the tire, presses the tire against the rim from the inside and supports it. That prevents burping, allows a lower tire pressure for more grip and protects rim and tire against impacts.
In case of a severe air loss the Odyssey BMX "Optis Insert" Tubeless Insert - 700C (Without Valve, Insert Only) keeps the tire on the rim for a short while so you can come to a controlled stop. It is installed like a conventional tube, and while inflating it pushes the bead outwards, which makes seating the tire easier. The insert is made of nylon and TPU and may be inflated to a maximum of 90 psi in the 700C size.
