The Shimano "S-PHYRE XC902" MTB Shoes - Blue is the second generation of Shimano's S-PHYRE XC9 race shoe and according to US Pro more than 10% lighter than the XC901. The upper is made of two bonded wrap-around layers: the top section takes care of fit, the lower one of pedalling efficiency and durability, with perforations at the toe and tongue for ventilation.
Two low-profile BOA Li2 dials with instant release and the adjustable Powerzone lacing guide hold the forefoot precisely, and a composite heel cup with a grippy liner and rubber bumpers keeps the heel in place. The SHIMANO ULTREAD XC rubber outsole with three-lobe lugs grips in all conditions, and the metal studs can be swapped to suit the riding. Weight according to US Pro around 296 g per shoe in size 42.
