The Shimano "XC100" MTB Shoes - Black is Shimano's entry-level clipless shoe for cross-country, and according to US Pro it works very well on a BMX race bike too. The synthetic leather upper is micro-perforated, breathes well and wraps the foot with little overlap.
Three hook-and-loop straps with asymmetric routing spread the hold evenly over the instep and take pressure off the top of the foot. The light glass fibre reinforced nylon sole puts your power into the pedal, and the XC rubber outsole gives grip on the pedal and when walking.
